Ski into 2026

   2026 started with a fun train trip to Essex Montana to ski with friends from the local ski club.  There was much less snow this year, but at a base elevation of 4300 feet, routes were groomed, there was plenty of snow, and oh so cold with daytime highs of 18 degrees!
  More skiing early in January with the long drive to Winthrop for 10 days.  Snow was sparse in many places with not all trails open and days warming into 30’s. 
   My old paddle buddy and I finally got back to a favorite destination in late February.   Swans, egrets, ducks, and more trash than we’d like to see.  As always, we competed to see who could grab the most.  No way we could have removed the two sinking vessels, but I was able to add two more bobbers to my collection.
   Of course, some new adventures on the menu... Planning for the rest of the year started in December with a supported ride in June with my buddies from Seattle and another with same buddies in Slovenia in August! The long planning process for a self-supported adventure in Michigan in late August starts now.  More stuff forthcoming!
